Science Under the Sea: Philippe Cousteau Live from Aquarius

Teacher's Guide

The inquiry-based lesson plans and activities here provide a framework for students' interaction with researchers during the Aquarius mission and relate to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Their goal is to help students develop an understanding of marine ecology and environmental stewardship.

Lessons and activities are available for use before, during, and after the Aquarius mission (or before, during, and after the viewing of archived video). They are designed primarily for middle grades, but adaptations are provided for upper elementary and high school.

And be sure to download the Aquarius Mission Field Guide for students, which they will use during these activities!

Additional lesson plans about Aquarius for grades 9–12 are available from UNC-Wilmington's NOAA's Aquarius website.
