Three Activities Using Critical Viewing Skills to compare and contrast two World News Sources:
1.Identify/discuss major elements/categories of each webpage (images, headings, submenus, layout, use of white space)
2.Identify/discuss similarities
3.Identify/discuss differences
Follow-up to previous discussion
1.Identify/discuss arrangements of information; use of images;
focus, and intended audience
2. Select an article on a specific topic from CNN and BBC on the same day and time and print hard copy
Extension:
1.Identify/discuss point of view, clarity, vocabulary
2.Compare the content, sources of information cited, point of view, amount of space given to a specific topic (level of importance)
