Lesson Plans and Resources to support the 8th grade study of NC History are now available for download!

Topics include: (1) A study of Native Americans (2) the English Exploration of Roanoke Island and Beyond (3) Colonial NC and the American Revolution (4) Antebellum Slavery (5) the Civil War (6) Living with Jim Crow and (7) The 21st Century and Camp Lejeune. The lesson plans are organized in units of study but each individual lesson can stand on it's own. Each lesson is based on proven methods of instruction that will engage students and enhance the development of their higher order thinking skills. Teachers are encouraged to use and modify the lessons to suit the needs of their students.
