NATIONAL COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION (NCEE)
The 2005 National Council on Economic Education / National Association of Economic Educators Annual Conference/Global Association of Teachers of Economics Annual Conference will be held at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, in San Antonio, Texas, October 5-8.
THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION (NCGE)
The 2005 National Council for Geographic Education Annual Conference will be held at the Sheraton Birmingham, in Birmingham, Alabama, October 12-15.
NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES (NCSS)
The NCSS Annual Conference is the premier professional development event for the social studies community, bringing together thousands of educators from the United States and across the globe. Built around the theme "Social Studies: The Heart of the Curriculum", this year's conference will feature a special focus on the position of social studies as the center of the curriculum, touching every other subject area. The 2005 NCSS Annual Conference will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, November 17-20.
AMERICAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY(AHA)
Built around the theme, “ Nations, Nationalism, and National Histories, the 120th Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, January 5–8, 2006.
International Studies Schools Association (ISSA)
The International Studies Schools Association (ISSA) is a national network of
K-12 schools dedicated to improving students’ understanding of the world. It is administered by the Center for Teaching International Relations (CTIR) at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of International Studies.
Member schools are structured in a wide variety of ways, including urban magnet schools, charter schools, rural schools, parochial schools, and independent schools. Their curriculum and programs reflect the rich diversity of American primary and secondary education.
Since 2001, the ISSA has been the only association to provide schools and districts with curricular models, best practices, and consulting services to strengthen international education in the schools.
The 2006 ISSA Conference will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina,

ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN HISTORIANS (OAH)
The Organization of American Historians is the largest learned society devoted to the study of American history. The program theme Our America/Nuestra Ameríca invites participants to explore the many meanings of “America for people living in North America and beyond. The ninety-ninth Annual Meeting of the Organization of American Historians and the twenty-eighth Annual Meeting of the National Council on Public History will be held jointly at the Hilton Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C., April 19-22, 2006.
