NC General Statute about Retention due to English language proficiency
Attached is a Word document taken directly from the North Carolina General Statutes about accountability standards for students with limited English proficiency. It states, "Students of limited English proficiency shall meet the same standards as all students. However, in accordance with federal law, English language proficiency cannot be the factor that determines that a student has not met performance standards..." The federal law referred to is the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Download file
