2. Not On Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond

Not On Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond By
Don Cheadle and John Prendergast

Academy Award-nominated actor Don Cheadle and renowned human rights
activist John Prendergast have teamed up to change the course of history
in Sudan's Darfur region, where over 400,000 people have died in what
President Bush has called a genocide. In "Not on Our Watch," Cheadle
and Prendergast describe how they were first inspired to take action to
end atrocities such as the genocide in Darfur, and what readers can do
to help. "Not on Our Watch" is a great way to engage middle and high
school students in social studies and current events.
